Plant spring and summer in warm areas. Look up Boondie seeds or Eden seeds on the internet and look up bottle gourd.

As i make unusual instruments , I would like to make something from a gourd if I could grow some in the nelson /Tasman area. Will they grow here? If so how do i process one after maturity so the shell stays hard. Thank you.

I am growing a variety of ornamental, bottle and loofah gourds. They were planted in October. The bottle gourds have fruit on them of up to 25cm. Nearly all the bottle gourd fruits are rotting from the inside out. The other gourds are fine. Is there a spray etc. that I can use on the bottle gourds or do I have to pull out the vines? Thanks for your help.

I didn't realise people actually ate gourds? I thought they were only for looks. My gourds grew to be quite small. How can I encourage them to grow bigger?
