Rockmelon (also Canteloupe) 23 Feb, lita (Australia - sub-tropical climate)
I pollinate the flowers myself and they seems to be lots of flowers . Some of them form buds but they only grow a little and they turn yellow and died too. Have anyone know the reasons?
Rockmelon (also Canteloupe) 14 Apr, sarah (Australia - temperate climate)
how old are the plants? mine took along time(over two months) to produce female flowers, also i found the bees do a better job of pollinating if the plants are spread out rather than too inter-grown
Rockmelon (also Canteloupe) 13 Feb, Nelson Shem (Australia - sub-tropical climate)

Rockmelon (also Canteloupe) 26 Nov, Rich (Australia - sub-tropical climate)
Just buy a rockmelon, scoop the seeds out, dry hem and plant them. I've got about 100 seedlings growing out of my compost now. I'm gonna let them grow

my pumpkin vine is growing in a vegie box and it looks healthy with lots of male and a few female flowers but after each female flower blooms even after trying hand pollination the flower bottom becomes yellow and eventually drops .is there any way i could prevent this and sucsessfully grow pumkins??..and also that the same veggie box has three more pumpkin plants growing..is that the causeof it??

Eggplant (also Aubergine) 08 Feb, Chandra Akhil (Australia - temperate climate)
I planted seedlings (varieties) early December and started harvesting very healthy good size fruit late January. I am still harvesting almost every three weeks. It just grows and grows and gives lots of fruit. I give it good watering and lot of compost from time to time. I have left a fruit on each plant for seeds which will be handy come July.
Cape Gooseberry (also Golden Berry, Inca Berry ) 07 Feb, Jackie (Australia - temperate climate)
I have a plant and it nearly died. After some TLC and lots of water it has thrived and now fruits like mad. It has also self seeded and has become ferrel. It must love the scorching Summers in this part of the world. I believe it is good for diabetics .
Cape Gooseberry (also Golden Berry, Inca Berry ) 24 May, JOSEPH (Australia - cool/mountain climate)
Yes you are quiet correct I planted a Cape gooseberry for a friend who is a diabetic and she loves eating them straight from the bush. The Cape Gooseberry is queit hardy but does love a fair amount of water to give you a really good crop. As to the people commenting about their fruit dropping prior to maturity, my personal belief is the lack of consistent or regular watering. Hope you all have success

Pumpkin 02 Feb, paul (Australia - temperate climate)
just wondering i bent my stem to my pumpkin and cracked it is there any remedies first time grower thanks
Pumpkin 08 Feb, Catherine (Australia - cool/mountain climate)
I Paul, I trod on one of my vines a few weeks ago. I was going to cut it off, but then forgot. I noticed it the other day, and the vine has just kept growing. he place where I trod on it is still visible as a few splits in the otherwise thick vine, but it has hardened up and there are flowers and leaves growing on the rest of the vine anyway. So you can probably just leave it and it will work out. If it is the actualy stem to a pumpkin fruit, not just one of the vines, I'm not sure, but it might do the same thing.

Garlic 02 Feb, Prue (Australia - temperate climate)
This year I let a couple of garlic go to seed and flower, so now I have thousands of tiny garlic cloves/seeds, should I plant them in the ground now as that is when they would of naturally fallen or wait till April? I'm in Melbourne if that helps answer my question
Garlic 22 Jun, Michael Ouellette (Australia - temperate climate)
You can plant them as an experiment but you are better off planting the cloves from mature garlic. I also live in Melbourne and have been growing my own garlic for three years with success. I plant about 2- 300 cloves for our own usage yearly. PS: and loving it...

Rocket (also Arugula/Rucola) 31 Jan, Michael (Australia - temperate climate)
I have planted rocket and my leaves are going red. The red seems to get more pronounced once picked. What could be causing this?
Rocket (also Arugula/Rucola) 01 Feb, Chris (Australia - cool/mountain climate)
Mine are doing the same. I haven't dared taste them yet. Some are growing normally but lots have turned red. I would guess some sort of stress has affected them.
Rocket (also Arugula/Rucola) 04 Feb, Ali (Australia - sub-tropical climate)
My rocket is red as well and is growing really slowly. I havent been able to pick any yet and I planted it end of november any ideas?
Garlic 31 Jan, (Australia - cool/mountain climate)
I have planted garlic bulbs last year and nothing happened. Thought it all died off, but in the last week or so.... it's been soooo hot here and I now have garlic growing in my pots. Must be from last year's bulbs that didnt work. Not sure why they are sprouting at this time of year, especially in this heat when I thought they were a winter vege. Any comments would be good.
Garlic 02 Apr, David (Australia - temperate climate)
it is possible that you bought mexican or some other countrys garlic which is 6 monthes different to ours hence the garlic coming up now
