it's May 16th and I'm wanting to sow some okra seeds. Has anyone had success in zone 8b? Would love some tips, for i don't have much room so I do mostly containers, but I can make space if needed. Thanks so much Chuck Celestine

Our area has a lot of wind, up to 95 in summer. Get some snow in winter. Would like to plant them along our fenceline around our 1acre. Zone7b.AZ. Any advice will be appreciated.

No frosts, no problem! Get them going as early as you like! I have to wait till last frost is gone, early November but this year I'm going to get some frost covers and start them a bit earlier.

Go to daleysfruit .c**.au or greenharvest.c**.au on the internet. Not that variety but what is the common grown in Australia. Green Harvest has a great article on how to grow it etc.

A light frost is not a problem but if you get a heavy Jack Frost they will go to God like any other plant. I'm in Arid Western Vic and get at least two or three Jack Frosts unless I cover them with a frost proofing cover.

By the planting guide for cool mountain climate I would say maybe an odd light frost. Where I live we don't have frosts. They are a cool weather crop.

Probably anytime of the year but more so when it is in a growing stage. The gardens I go to, it is a hedge so it is trimmed often.

Hi my name is Caroline and I’m not from New Zealand, but I love pumpkins! I REALLY REALLY have the urge to carve a pumpkin but unfortunately they are all out of season in America. This might sound stupid but are pumpkins on the same schedule in New Zealand bc of the difference in climate? Like would I be able to get one shipped ?

Gardenate suggests you plant Feb to April. Try planting it in August and it probably won't even germinate. Most plants have a defined time of the year to grow in a particular climate zone.

I bought a chilli plant, very small, and it grew into a lovely plant, heaps and heaps of chilis. My question, will it flower again each year and produce new fruit each year? Or do I throw it away, and plant a new one?

I try to take my chillie plants through the winter by protecting from frost and the ones that survive do really well, better than new plants, so I would try to keepit going

i have a jelopeno plant that is 5 years old (in a large pot ) It still produces chillies ..loads of them Its a small tree if you google it. produces mostly smaller fruit but . it does yield a few large ones ( probably more then a younger plant will ) pruning it back, sometimes pulling off the new buds, will transfer the energy back into the plant. of course using the right fertilizer, minerals and Nutrients will also help the plant survive overwintering looks like its dead. But it is survivable if done right
