Easy to grow. Plant cloves. Best planted at soil temperatures between 10°C and 35°C. (Show °F/in)
Space plants: 10 - 12 cm apart
Harvest in 17-25 weeks.
Compatible with (can grow beside): Beets, Carrots, Cucumbers, Dill, Tomatoes, Parsnips
Avoid growing close to: Asparagus, Beans, Brassicas, Peas, Potatoes

16 May 13, chanel (South Africa - Semi-arid climate): We live in Kokstad which is perfect for the garlic, cold, dry, snow etc. Can anyone tell me if i would need to maltch the garlic, (it gets freezing and snows here) Boarder EC & KZN My first time and the shoots are doing very well!! A lot of the soil here is very clay, is this ok for garlic and what type of soil is best for garlic? Is the climate here suitable for it and what would be the best times to plant? Regards Tony

25 Dec 13, hardus (South Africa - Semi-arid climate): where can i find garlic seeds for about 0,5ha, and how many seeds would i need for 0;5 ha. My tamotoes is already planted, 600 mm apart under drip irrigation, and i want to plant the garlic end of january, between or next to the tamato plants, will this work? Any suggestions or tips to follow on planting garlic will be highly appreciated
