Tomato 29 Nov, Rosie (Australia - temperate climate)
Perry someone suggested the little moths were actually 'white fly' and should be sprayed with oil or a soap based spray as they can get quite bad. However, i google them and I don't think they are my visitors. They are probably tomotoe moth (potatoe moth) - and they didn't sound like they would be helpful towards my tomotoes either. BUT when I went out again they were gone! They were only a few around - so maybe they are seasonal and don't hang around for long. They seem to have done any damage...

Soak seeds in water for two days. If temperature is over 20 deg., put seeds in fridge for two days before planting.
Watermelon 27 Nov, Emma (Australia - sub-tropical climate)
I planted some seeds over 3 months ago (not having done any research before) in my small vegie avery and a week ago the seedlings have poped up so I gather its because our temps are between 27 and 35 here most days. The seedlings are all in one area someone has told me to seperate them but when I did that last time with pumpkin seedlings almost all died even though I did it with care. If I leave them where they currently are will they survive and poduce fruit? or should I risk it and move them?

I like to clip away any leaves flat on the ground - coz slugs and earwigs live under flat wilted leaves. Your suggestions about using garlic spray, vinegar and even cayenne spray have been useful/worthwhile folks!

Cauliflower 20 Nov, graham (Australia - temperate climate)
I may be interpreting the info from this site incorrectly, most of the comments reinforce what i thought, that cauliflower is grown in cooler months and yet this site shows planting times of mid summer with harvest at the end of summer. Can some one please explain thanks
