Could be a variation in the availability of soil water. Plants are better producers the more years they are in the one spot. Ours (in Sydney) was in the ground forever, trunk thicker than a forearm, and covered chook shed. Never watered so must have put down some really deep roots. So much fruit we'd play cricket with them. Not very good for soccer though ;)

Yes, capsicum freezes quite well. Cut it into strips, ready to use and freeze on a tray before bagging up. It loses a bit of flavour but the colour stays well.

Gidday. Can someine tell me if St Lawrence Qld which lies smack bang between Rocky to the South and Mackay to the North is Tropical or Sub-tropical? No-one seems to actually know.

I was given a basil plant yesterday - from up north Queensland. He said it flowered in the late winter - spring. Growing it for bee attraction. Will ask what it is called tomorrow.

Yes, Salsify will grow in Central Florida throughout the winter. it likes a cool season so I would plant it Late October and let it do its growing till March or April. It can take up to 150 days to grow. Mine grew well in raised beds.

I had planted my Choko Plant in end of 2016. Got a few melons in 2017 and quite a number of them in 2018. Of course it have flowers and melon only during warmer season. apparently there are a few new shoots are growing from the plant, so I would appreciate if someone can let me know how long does a choke plant can grow? Thanks and regards.

Choko is perennial plant, it will keep growing but to the very cold places mostly died. If you can protect it from frost it will come out again when weather is warm enough.

HI, I am trying to grow Kohlrabi for the fist time. We live in Newcastle, north of Sydney. I planted the seeds at least a month ago. Lots of leaves but no swelling at the base yet. I was wondering how long it takes to form?

It says 7-10 weeks - give it some time if it is only 1 mth old.

Thanks. I have read elsewhere that it may be too warm here to grow it successfully. I hope not tho as my son has been eagerly looking forward to seeing this rather unusual veggie growing. :)

You have indicated temperate and it says plant all year. Cool / Mountain is Sept to May. Do you receive all day sun. They need lots of sun. If still no good suggest you grow another variety.
